The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heidrich shoots in and drives through. Rivera sprawls well.
Rivera scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rivera missing with a left hand there. Heidrich was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rivera stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rivera wants it to stay on the feet.
Rivera scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
It looks like Vince Leonard Heidrich has been cut.
Heidrich keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rivera.
Heidrich shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rivera sprawls well. Rivera wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Heidrich gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vince Leonard Heidrich. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rivera throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Heidrich closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rivera is refusing to be controlled, as Heidrich sits in half guard.
Rivera works his way to full guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rivera is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Rivera's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Heidrich is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rivera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rivera has escaped and now he's on top!

Heidrich is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Rivera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Rivera stands and steps away. Heidrich gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rivera jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Rivera stuns Heidrich with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Heidrich is breathing heavily.
Rivera lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Heidrich backs up against the cage.
Heidrich looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rivera ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rivera lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rivera walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Heidrich drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Rivera swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Heidrich's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Geraldo Rivera!
