Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Amir Halilov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Francesco Baja!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Konstantin Menshow and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Halilov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Baja looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Halilov tries to advance to mount but can't.

Halilov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Baja knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Halilov tries for a kimura but Baja is defending well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Baja wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Halilov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Baja is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Baja is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Halilov has hold of Baja's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Baja seems comfortable defending it but Halilov has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Baja is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Baja is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Halilov couldn't care less - he's delighted!
