Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saguro Takada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tonto Borneo! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Borneo looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Borneo slips under a jab. Takada misses with an uppercut. Borneo scores with a head kick. Takada tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Takada defending well as Borneo loads up on a big left hand. Borneo looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Borneo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Takada on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Borneo. Borneo obviously looking to wear him down.
Borneo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Takada blocks a head kick by Borneo.
Tonto Borneo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Borneo misses the shot to the body. Takada throws a lazy uppercut
and Borneo finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Borneo scores with a head kick.
Takada lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
It looks like Tonto Borneo has been cut. Takada looks to score with a jab to the body but Borneo is just out of range. Borneo fails with the takedown and Takada counters with a nice uppercut. No luck with that takedown attempt from Borneo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Borneo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Takada looks to throw the jab but Borneo is out of range. A momentary lapse in concentration from Borneo enables Takada to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Borneo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Takada thows a big elbow that misses. Takada trying to control the position from guard on top but Borneo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. I think Takada should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Borneo has tightened it up now! Takada should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
