Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nigel Burkshire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burkshire's entrance music is It's a Fight - Three 6 Mafia. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Paulson! The judges for this bout are , and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paulson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Burkshire shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Paulson is trying to defend but Burkshire finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Burkshire is pressing down on Paulson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Paulson is holding on for now. Paulson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Burkshire. Paulson is refusing to be controlled, as Burkshire sits in half guard. Burkshire thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paulson's head. Burkshire trying to control the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burkshire seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Paulson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Paulson is trying to get back to full guard. Paulson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Burkshire is nestled in close to Paulson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Burkshire working Paulson over with strikes. Burkshire is thwarting Paulson's attempts to control the position. Burkshire trying to control the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paulson pushes Burkshire off looking to stand but Burkshire dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burkshire tries to pass to full mount but Paulson defends it. Paulson is looking for a sweep. Burkshire is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Paulson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Burkshire scores with a couple of nice shots. Burkshire missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Paulson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Paulson.

Burkshire trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Paulson looking for a sweep. Not yet Paulson, not yet. Burkshire wants to control from the top but Paulson keeps moving. Paulson wants to stand but Burkshire is controlling the position. Burkshire drops back looking for a leg! Paulson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Paulson manages to kick Burkshire off! Burkshire jumps back into Paulson's guard. Paulson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Paulson looking to control but Burkshire is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Paulson lands a heavy elbow. Paulson tries to control but Burkshire wriggling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nigel Burkshire will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Paulson with a lazy takedown attempt and Burkshire counters with a shoot takedown. Paulson fights it but they end up in guard. Burkshire stops Paulson from standing up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paulson is on top in guard.
Paulson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Burkshire is proving hard to escape from. Paulson wants to pass the guard but Burkshire is keeping the position. Burkshire pulls Paulson in close to prevent any damage. Burkshire has a closed guard, preventing Paulson from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burkshire lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Paulson! Burkshire working the ground and pound effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Paulson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Paulson is looking to get to half guard. Paulson wants to control but Burkshire is having none of it. Paulson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Nigel Burkshire overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. You get the feeling that Paulson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Paulson is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Burkshire looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Burkshire is in the full mount, landing strikes. Paulson taking shots to the head. Burkshire takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Burkshire lands a heavy elbow. Paulson manages to regain half guard. Good work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Paulson trying to hold on to Burkshire's head to control him but Burkshire postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Burkshire trying to pass the guard but Paulson defending well. Paulson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burkshire is working away from the top position though. Burkshire postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Paulson to stand up. Burkshire has taken the fight to the clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Burkshire scores with a shot to the side of Paulson's head. Paulson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Burkshire is defending well for now. Paulson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Burkshire gets the underhooks and prevents it.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Paulson. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nigel Burkshire dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Paulson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Burkshire closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Paulson to the mat! Paulson manages to get full guard. Paulson wants to stand but Burkshire is controlling the position.

Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Burkshire wants to control but Paulson is having none of it. Burkshire working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Paulson looking to ground and pound but Burkshire is blocking nicely. Nigel Burkshire is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Burkshire holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Paulson tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Burkshire tries to lock up and control but Paulson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Paulson unloads with some shots from mount but Burkshire bucks and avoids them well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Paulson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Tyler Paulson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Burkshire suckers Paulson into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Burkshire is now in Paulson's guard!
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Burkshire tries to free his leg and advance position but Paulson is retaining full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Nigel Burkshire showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Burkshire, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
