Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jarvis Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jarvis Chapman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jarvis Chapman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris McDonald!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman tries to clinch but McDonald moves out of range.

Chapman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Chapman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
McDonald wants to sweep but no luck.
Chapman stays in close to McDonald's body and controls the position.
Chapman looking to pass the guard.
McDonald is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chapman postures up.
Chapman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
McDonald looking for a sweep. Not yet McDonald, not yet.

McDonald wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Chapman is now in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McDonald is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McDonald looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chapman trying to stand up but can't free himself from McDonald's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
McDonald shoots and misses

and Chapman counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Chapman gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Chapman rushes McDonald and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Chapman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
McDonald wants to hold on but Chapman pushes him away.
Chapman looking to control and managing it successfully.

Chapman goes for an armbar but McDonald turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from McDonald.
McDonald looking to sit in guard and control but Chapman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McDonald lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Chapman!

Chapman is looking to get to half guard.
McDonald tries to control but Chapman wriggling away.
Chapman is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Chapman avoids a series of strikes thrown by McDonald.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDonald lands with some strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McDonald circles away from the clinch attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Chapman.
McDonald tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Chapman presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Chapman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Chapman is staying active underneath McDonald, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Chapman is thwarting McDonald's attempts to control the position.
Well, if Chapman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Chapman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McDonald looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McDonald is trying to control Chapman's posture but Chapman avoids it.

Chapman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McDonald paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McDonald showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Chapman.

Chapman misses with a head shot. McDonald uses the momentum to regain guard.
Chapman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
McDonald seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McDonald is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chapman is controlling him.

McDonald can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chapman controls the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McDonald tries to bum rush Chapman with a series of wild strikes but Chapman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Chapman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Chapman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McDonald throws a series of punches but Chapman moves out of range.
A combination from McDonald does no damage.
Chapman tries to clinch there but McDonald circles away.
McDonald gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Chapman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Chapman wants to control from the top but McDonald keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McDonald holds on and takes a little breather.

McDonald is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McDonald has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chapman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McDonald wants to sweep here but Chapman controlling him for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Chapman shoots in for a double leg but McDonald sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chapman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
