The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uppercutt throws a sloppy head kick and Sprat moves out of range easily. Sprat darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Uppercutt wants to improve his position but Sprat is controlling well.
Sprat thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Uppercutt to regain full guard. Sprat is looking to work some ground and pound but Uppercutt has wrist control. Uppercutt looking for a sweep. Not yet Uppercutt, not yet. Uppercutt looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Sprat with a flurry of punches that miss. Sprat wants to control from the top but Uppercutt keeps moving. Sprat controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uppercutt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Uppercutt avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sprat has Uppercutt up against the cage in a clinch.

Sprat is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Uppercutt gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Uppercutt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sprat is looking to clinch. Sprat shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Uppercutt manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Uppercutt manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sprat manages to get himself to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uppercutt seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Sprat looking for a sweep. Not yet Sprat, not yet. Sprat is trying to keep Uppercutt in close.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sprat can do anything to dispel that myth. Sprat is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Sprat on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Uppercutt. Uppercutt obviously looking to wear him down.
Sprat looks gassed! Uppercutt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sprat counters with a nice double leg into side control. Uppercutt won't be happy with that. Uppercutt is trying to control Sprat's posture but Sprat avoids it. Uppercutt is looking to reverse the position. Uppercutt stops Sprat from passing to mount. Uppercutt throws Sprat to one side and escapes!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Uppercutt throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Uppercutt closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Uppercutt could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sprat has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Uppercutt avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Uppercutt tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Uppercutt is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sprat can't fight it off and eventually Uppercutt manages to take the fight to the floor. Sprat looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Uppercutt wants to pass the guard but Sprat is keeping the position. Uppercutt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sprat has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Uppercutt has managed to get both his arms back between Sprat's legs - danger averted. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Uppercutt's corner. There ya go! There ya go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jack Sprat will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Uppercutt wants to clinch up but Sprat keeps it at a distance. Sprat misses with a body shot.
Sprat shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sprat was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Uppercutt bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Uppercutt stands up from guard. Let's bang! Sprat circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sprat tries to clinch up. Sprat is looking to clinch. Sprat shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Uppercutt napping and manages to drive through into side control! Sprat throwing strikes but Uppercutt manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Uppercutt tries for a kimura but Sprat is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Uppercutt stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sprat scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Uppercutt is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Sprat takes a little break here. Uppercutt wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Sprat cracks Uppercutt with a big right hand but Uppercutt just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Uppercutt is looking to reverse the position. Uppercutt on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Uppercutt avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sprat. Sprat controls the position from side control. Sprat looks up at the clock and then as Uppercutt takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sprat smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Uppercutt is looking to escape. Uppercutt trying to get back to full guard but Sprat takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Uppercutt tries to reverse the position but Sprat maintains control. Sprat tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Sprat landing strikes from the mount. Sprat landing strikes from the mount. Sprat lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Uppercutt is bucking up trying to escape but Sprat cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Sprat looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sprat tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Uppercutt is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sprat controlling from the full mount. Let's hope that Sprat has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Uppercutt is squirming around, avoiding Sprat's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Sprat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Uppercutt closes the distance looking to clinch and Sprat decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Uppercutt's guard. Sprat trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sprat is working Uppercutt over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Sprat stopping the sweep attempt from Uppercutt. Sprat pushes down on Uppercutt's leg and manages to get into half guard. Sprat trying to control from half guard but Uppercutt is working away. Sprat is pressing down on Uppercutt's thigh, looking to free his foot. Uppercutt is holding on for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sprat blocks the strikes from Uppercutt.
Sprat is looking to take a break and control but Uppercutt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Uppercutt gets back to full guard.
Uppercutt is trying to control the position but Sprat postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sprat closes the distance and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Uppercutt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sprat moves into the clinch. Uppercutt is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Sprat lands a shot to the body. Sprat manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Uppercutt is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Sprat rolls with it to try and escape but Uppercutt cranks on the arm and Sprat is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
