Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Sachel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Hughes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Sachel! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sachel napping and manages to drive through into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hughes is trying to get an arm triangle but Sachel is defending well. Hughes misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Sachel is trying to control Hughes's posture but Hughes avoids it. Hughes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sachel to his feet. Hughes drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sachel has his foot on Hughes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hughes works his way back into a safe position though. Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Sachel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sachel throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hughes passes Sachel's left leg - he's now in half guard. Sachel wants to control but Hughes is keeping busy and won't allow it. Hughes tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sachel controls his leg. Hughes thows a huge punch but Sachel dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sachel makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sachel. Hughes chips away with some ground and pound. Hughes trying to control but Sachel is working from the bottom. Hughes sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hughes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sachel swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sachel is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hughes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sachel is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sachel escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hughes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hughes wants to get up but he can't break Sachel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Sachel keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully. Sachel has his foot on Hughes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hughes wants to stand but Sachel is controlling his posture from full guard. Sachel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sachel is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hughes's half guard. Sachel is trying to control. Hughes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Sachel is working for a kimura but Hughes is defending it quite comfortably.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Hughes will probably get the nod. That's time! Hughes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hughes clinches. Hughes pulls guard effortlessly. Sachel loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sachel drops back looking for a leg! Hughes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hughes manages to kick Sachel off! Sachel jumps back into Hughes's guard. Hughes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hughes wants to stand and escape but Sachel is having none of it. Sachel won't allow Hughes to sweep him here. Sachel trying to control the position from guard on top but Hughes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Hughes tries to close the distance and clinch but Sachel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Sachel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hughes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Sachel blocks the elbow strike.
A frustrated look appears on Hughes's face as he tries to break the clinch. Hughes prevents the takedown attempt.
Hughes jumps into guard, dragging Sachel to the mat.
Sachel trying to control but Hughes is working from the bottom. Hughes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Sachel wants to pass the guard but Hughes is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hughes has his foot on Sachel's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sachel works his way back into a safe position though. Sachel trying to control but Hughes is working from the bottom. Hughes wants to get back to his feet but Sachel is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hughes scores with a short punch from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Sachel scores with a body shot.
Sachel tries for a takedown but Hughes circles away easily and Hughes counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sachel! Mark Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Sachel. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sachel tries to reverse the position but Hughes maintains control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes controlling his opponent. Sachel wants to control but Hughes is having none of it. Hughes gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Sachel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hughes counters with a takedown into side control. Sachel regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hughes's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Sachel looking for submissions off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sachel moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sachel is looking for a triangle but Hughes pushes his legs off easily.
Sachel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sachel is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hughes is aware though and is defending well. Sachel looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hughes passes into half guard.
Hughes with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mark Hughes dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Hughes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sachel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Hughes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sachel is proving hard to escape from. Sachel is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hughes is aware though and is defending well. Sachel preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hughes is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Sachel keeping moving, preventing Hughes from controlling successfully. Hughes looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Hughes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Hughes. Hughes drives through and clinches with Sachel against the cage.
Sachel looking for a takedown. Hughes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Hughes throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sachel blocks it with crossed arms. Sachel goes for a takedown attempt but Hughes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Sachel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Hughes controlling his opponent. Hughes wants to control the pace but Sachel is squirming around nicely. Mark Hughes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes with good strikes from the mount here! Sachel is trying desperately to improve position. Hughes tries to control but Sachel wriggling away. A nice elbow there by Hughes. Sachel sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Sachel actively working from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sachel makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sachel. Hughes wanted to stand there but Sachel had control of the position. Hughes tries to free his leg and advance position but Sachel is retaining full guard. Sachel working a defensive guard here.
Hughes trying to control but Sachel is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sachel working for a triangle but Hughes defends it easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Hughes showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hughes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
