The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons fails in his attempt to clinch.
A head kick misses from Anderson.
Anderson tries to clinch but Simmons moves away
and Simmons holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Anderson lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Simmons has had enough of the clinch but Anderson keeps him there for the moment.
Simmons is trying to break the clinch but Anderson has him pressed against the cage.
Anderson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Simmons gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Simmons manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Anderson manages to get himself to full guard.

Simmons lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Simmons paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Simmons chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Anderson can pounce on him.

and Simmons counters by moving into the clinch.
Anderson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Anderson lands a knee to the head.

Simmons has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Anderson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Simmons wants to break free but Anderson has control.
Anderson is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Matt Simmons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ciaran Anderson.
Anderson throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Simmons blocks it with crossed arms.
Anderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Simmons changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Matt Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Anderson connects with a high kick.
Anderson doesn't manage to clinch there - Simmons circles away.
Simmons keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Simmons misses with a two punch combination.
Simmons connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Anderson tumbling to the canvas! Simmons pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Anderson was done - good stoppage!
