Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Corey Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillip Andrewes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Andrewes's choice of entrance music: Tupac-Ambitionz Az a Ridah. Corey Taylor is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Corey Taylor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phillip Andrewes! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Andrewes is defended easily by Taylor. Andrewes gets in close and instigates a clinch. Andrewes fails to pull guard.
Taylor is stalling here.
Andrewes jumps guard but Taylor stands there with Andrewes around his waist. Andrewes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Corey Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phillip Andrewes. Andrewes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Taylor walks away with a smile on his face. Andrewes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Andrewes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Taylor. Andrewes shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Andrewes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Taylor leaves Andrewes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Taylor throws a lazy right hand but Andrewes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Andrewes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Taylor gets a takedown into half guard. Taylor sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Andrewes's head. Andrewes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taylor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Taylor looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Taylor decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Andrewes throws a wild body kick that Taylor sees coming a mile off. Andrewes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Taylor swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Taylor keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. No luck with that takedown attempt from Taylor. Taylor connects with a body shot. Taylor swats away the attempt to clinch by Andrewes. Andrewes walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Andrewes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Taylor scores with a jab to the body. Andrewes looks gassed! Jab, jab by Taylor - just one landing. Taylor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Taylor stands up from Andrewes's guard - Taylor perhaps looking for a knockout. Taylor fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Andrewes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Taylor defends it nicely. Taylor throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Taylor lands with a shot to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Andrewes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Taylor to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Taylor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Taylor forces his way into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Taylor wants to control but Andrewes is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Corey Taylor dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Taylor connects with a body shot. Taylor moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Taylor scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Andrewes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Taylor swats him away and circles back towards the center. Andrewes takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Andrewes is trying desperately to land a takedown but Taylor is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Andrewes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Good work by Andrewes as he checks the leg kick. Taylor is looking to wear down Andrewes with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Andrewes takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Andrewes sprawls well initially but Taylor persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Taylor content to control rather than advance. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Andrewes can do anything to dispel that myth. Taylor prevents Andrewes from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Taylor is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Andrewes is just riding it out for now. Taylor eventually gives up the hold. Taylor slows the pace down in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Taylor escapes and gets back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Andrewes fails with an attempt to clinch.

Andrewes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Taylor throws a good cross that connects.

Taylor rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Andrewes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Corey Taylor is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Andrewes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Taylor counters with a series of strikes. Andrewes will be more careful next time no doubt. A jab lands there for Taylor. Taylor circles away from the clinch attempt and Taylor counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Phillip Andrewes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taylor connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Andrewes walks into a straight right hand from Taylor.
And that's the end of the fight! Corey Taylor showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Taylor, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
