Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andy Allanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Kurken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Allanson comes into the arena with Tribe Called Quest - Can I Kick It? blaring out of the sound system. Kurken has chosen Serbian national anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kurken showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Allanson.
Allanson misses with a body kick. Allanson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Allanson throws a leg kick which misses Kurken's front leg but catches the back leg as Kurken tries to avoid it. Kurken throws a leg kick and Allanson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Allanson throws a head kick but Kurken moves out of range.
Allanson throws a head kick that misses. Kurken with a poor takedown and Allanson counters with a lovely straight right hand! Allanson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Allanson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kurken shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Allanson catches Kurken with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Kurken is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Allanson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Allanson swings for the body but Kurken moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Kurken with that takedown attempt. Andy Allanson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Allanson moves out of range of the leg kick from Kurken. Allanson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Kurken as Allanson tries to tie him up. Allanson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Allanson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Allanson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Andy Allanson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simon Kurken. Allanson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kurken paws at him with a jab and circles away. Allanson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kurken circles away quickly and effectively. Andy Allanson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kurken decides to pull guard. Allanson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kurken has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Allanson has managed to get both his arms back between Kurken's legs - danger averted. Kurken had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Allanson defends it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allanson wants to control from the top but Kurken keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Allanson stands up from Kurken's guard - Allanson perhaps looking for a knockout. Kurken shoots for a double leg takedown but Allanson sprawls well. He's pushed Kurken's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Allanson closes the distance and pushes Kurken back into the cage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kurken decides to pull guard. Kurken working for a triangle but Allanson defends it easily.

Allanson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Allanson feints and then cracks Kurken's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kurken down. Allanson misses with a leg kick and Kurken counters with a nice leg kick. Allanson checks a leg kick nicely. Allanson scoring well with a low kick there.

Allanson throws a body kick that misses. Allanson tries to clinch there but Kurken circles away.
Kurken chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Allanson can pounce on him.

Kurken fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Allanson checks it well. Allanson thows a body shot but no joy. Kurken throws a leg kick that is checked and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kurken shoots in and drives through. Allanson sprawls well. Kurken shoots in but Allanson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kurken is breathing heavily. Kurken avoids the head kick by Allanson.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kurken stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Allanson. Allanson doesn't manage to clinch there - Kurken circles away.

Allanson cracks Kurken with a right hand to the side of the head. Allanson closes the distance and clinches. A nice glancing elbow lands by Allanson. Allanson lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Kurken jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Allanson walks away with a smile on his face. Kurken gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Allanson moves in looking to clinch but Kurken pushes him off. Kurken dives in and grabs Allanson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Allanson pushes down on Kurken's head and hops out. Kurken uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Allanson. Allanson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A leg kick checked by Allanson. Allanson moves in looking to clinch but Kurken pushes him off. Allanson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kurken fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Allanson avoids it really well and circles away. Allanson fails in his attempt to clinch. Allanson throws a head kick that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Allanson tries to land a front kick but Kurken steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Kurken does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kurken has a takedown stuffed. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Allanson tries to bum rush Kurken with a series of wild strikes but Kurken uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Allanson looks to score with a jab to the body but Kurken is just out of range. Allanson tries to clinch but Kurken is having none of it. Allanson misses with a head kick.
Andy Allanson is winning the standup battle so far. Allanson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A looping hook to the body misses from Allanson. Kurken does a little dance to reset his feet. Kurken cracks the inside of Allanson's front leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kurken.

Allanson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Allanson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Allanson fails in his attempt to clinch. Kurken keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Allanson. Allanson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kurken has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Allanson throws a hook but Kurken avoids it easily. Allanson blocks a low kick nicely. Allanson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kurken moves out of range of the strikes. Kurken shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Allanson defends it nicely. Allanson looks to clinch so Kurken counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kurken looking to sit in guard and control but Allanson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allanson wants to control from the top but Kurken keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Allanson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kurken is looking to sinch up a triangle. Allanson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kurken's body to avoid the submission. Kurken has instead reached around Allanson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kurken arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
