Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Avon Stringer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston Blau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stringer fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Blau is out of range.
Nice defenses there by Blau.
Blau dodges the punch combination from Stringer.
Stringer cracks Blau with a big right hand and Blau goes down!
Blau is rocked!
Stringer passes Blau's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Blau is still in real trouble! Can Stringer finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stringer is tying to control. Blau wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Stringer goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Blau has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Stringer but great work by Blau.

Stringer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blau is working away from the top position though.

Blau wants to control from the top but Stringer keeps moving.

Blau drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stringer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Blau misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stringer throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Blau counters with a head kick. That will keep Stringer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Stringer throws a front kick aimed at Blau's knee but Blau avoids it well.
Stringer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Blau closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stringer circles away.
Avon Stringer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Winston Blau.
Stringer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Blau moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Stringer throws a combination that misses
and Blau counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Blau wants to take a breather but Stringer is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blau is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Stringer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stringer.

That was a close round but I would say that Avon Stringer will probably get the nod.

and Blau counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Blau.
Blau is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Stringer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blau gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stringer throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Stringer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blau is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Stringer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blau's back instead.
Stringer is looking for a choke. Blau gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Blau manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Stringer scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.

Blau wants to stand but Stringer is controlling his posture from full guard.
Blau is breathing heavily.
Stringer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Blau's guard.

Stringer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stringer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Blau drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blau jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Blau counters with a low kick, right behind Stringer 's knee.

Blau shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stringer as he jumps to the side.

and Blau holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

and Blau counters with a three punch combo that has Stringer backing up. Stringer nods at Blau to acknowledge the strikes.

Blau tries to clinch up but Stringer circles away and keeps his distance.
Stringer moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Blau counters with a body kick that stops Stringer in his tracks momentarily.
Nice takedown defense from Stringer. No joy for Blau on that attempt.
Blau takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

and Blau counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Avon Stringer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stringer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Blau has time to react.

Blau pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Stringer cracks Blau with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Stringer lands with a big right hook that stumbles Blau - he's out on his feet here! Stringer follows up with another monster hook that separates Blau from consciousness! Blau falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Stringer stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
