Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Frankfurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Oconnor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oconnor has chosen 21 guns as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Eddie Frankfurt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vitor Oconnor! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frankfurt shoots for a double leg takedown but Oconnor sprawls well. He's pushed Frankfurt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Frankfurt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Oconnor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Frankfurt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oconnor as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Frankfurt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Frankfurt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Oconnor is defending against the submission attempts here by Frankfurt.

Frankfurt prevents Oconnor from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oconnor is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Frankfurt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Frankfurt's back! Frankfurt prevents Oconnor from getting a body triangle. You can see the frustration on Frankfurt's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Oconnor is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Frankfurt has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Frankfurt manages to reverse the position and now he's in Oconnor's guard. Nice work there by Frankfurt.
Frankfurt pushes down on Oconnor's leg and manages to get into half guard. Frankfurt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Frankfurt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oconnor but Oconnor pushes him off and we're back to square one. Frankfurt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Oconnor sprawls well. Oconnor wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Frankfurt gets slowly back to his feet. Frankfurt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oconnor circles away. Frankfurt fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Frankfurt is breathing heavily. Oconnor tries to clinch but Frankfurt is having none of it. Frankfurt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Oconnor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Frankfurt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Oconnor's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frankfurt won't allow Oconnor to get back to his feet. Frankfurt stopping the sweep attempt from Oconnor. Frankfurt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Oconnor is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Frankfurt, into his guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oconnor is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frankfurt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three minutes gone in the round. Frankfurt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Frankfurt controls the position. Frankfurt is trying to get an arm triangle but Oconnor is defending well. Oconnor wants to control but Frankfurt postures up. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Frankfurt working away.
