The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Mcdough moves in looking to clinch but Drake pushes him off. Mcdough lands a slapping body shot.
Drake misses with a series of wild punches.
Mcdough fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Drake checks it well. Mcdough shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Mcdough wants to clinch. Drake circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thomas Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mcdough closes the distance and clinches. Drake looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mcdough wants to break free but Drake has control.
Drake gets control of Mcdough's arms and successfully pulls guard. Drake will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Mcdough thows a big elbow that misses. Mcdough must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mcdough tries to close the distance and clinch but Drake swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Drake swats away the attempt to clinch by Mcdough. Drake throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mcdough. Mcdough falls off balance throwing a combination
and Drake counters with a flying knee. Nice.
It looks like Douglas Mcdough has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Drake avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Mcdough tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drake paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mcdough looks gassed! Mcdough throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Drake drops Mcdough with a big left hand! Mcdough is injured, injured bad! Drake jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
