Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wilby Champion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Welcome To The Jungle. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wilby Champion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Johnson! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Champion wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance. Johnson swats away the attempt to clinch by Champion. Johnson shoots in but no luck this time. Champion tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Champion misses with a kick to the body.
Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Champion circles away. Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Champion sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Wilby Champion has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zach Johnson. Champion throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease. Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Johnson scores a takedown into full mount! Champion is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Champion really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Champion keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Champion is trying to reverse the position but instead Johnson has taken his back - oops!
That's one minute gone in the round. Champion turns into Johnson and is now in his guard.
Johnson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Champion escapes and throws Johnson's legs to the side, diving into side control! Johnson looks gassed! Champion wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Johnson, who protects the arm well. Johnson tries to improve position but can't. Champion trying to control the action but Johnson is working from the bottom. Champion tries for a kimura but Johnson is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Johnson stops Champion from passing to mount. Champion takes a little break here. Johnson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Champion with the ground and pound but Johnson regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Champion seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Johnson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is looking to control Champion's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Johnson avoid being mounted?
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Johnson fails to land the takedown. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Wilby Champion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Champion pinned against the cage. Champion gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Champion fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Champion sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Champion is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Champion wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Johnson wants to pass to mount but Champion is defending the position. Champion missing with punches from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Champion is trying to get back to full guard. Champion strikes from the bottom but Johnson uses the opportunity to move to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zach Johnson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Johnson has an Americana. Champion didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Johnson is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Johnson hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
