Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between shukugi medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, shukugi medina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Hunter!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
medina scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hunter looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Horrible takedown by medina or perhaps it was just good defense by Hunter which made him look bad.
Hunter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by medina.
Hunter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A swing and a miss from Hunter.
medina slips under a jab.
medina shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hunter as he avoids it easily.
medina darts in and clinches Hunter up against the cage.
Hunter wants to get back to striking at distance but medina won't allow it.
medina decides to pull guard.
medina bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hunter's guard.
medina landing with the ground and pound.
medina is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of shukugi medina.
medina fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for shukugi medina. That's going to take a lot out of him.
medina tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hunter swivels and escapes.
medina really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

James Hunter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
medina uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hunter.
medina lands with a hook. Hunter tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Hunter keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hunter darts in trying to clinch
and medina counters with a big head kick but Hunter shrugs it off.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
medina buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
James Hunter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hunter throws a combination that misses
and medina counters by clinching up.
Hunter wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A right handed body shot lands from medina.
medina tries for a takedown. No joy.
medina manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
medina manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
medina is landing with some decent strikes but Hunter is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hunter is bucking up trying to escape but medina cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Hunter is squirming around, avoiding medina's attempts to control the action.
medina will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
medina takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hunter wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
medina looking to control and managing it successfully.
medina with shots to the head and body - Hunter looks very uncomfortable down there.
medina won't let Hunter get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Hunter is trying to stand but he's just given medina his back.
medina looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Hunter taps!
