Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Envy on the Coast - Southern Comfort. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Griffin tries to score with some ground and pound. Davis controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Griffin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Griffin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Davis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Griffin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Davis wants to get back to his feet but Griffin drags him back down.
Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Griffin on the ground.

Davis tries to reverse the position but Griffin maintains control.
Griffin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Griffin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Davis can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Davis tries to lock up and control but Griffin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Griffin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Davis has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Griffin jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davis walks away with a smile on his face. Griffin gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Davis leaves Griffin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Griffin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Davis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Griffin somewhat.
Davis is looking to clinch but Griffin is avoiding it.

Davis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Griffin, pushing him back against the cage.

Davis gets underhooks to prevent Griffin's takedown attempt.

Davis unloads a knee to the mid-section. Griffin lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Griffin shoots in looking for a takedown. Davis tries to sprawl out of it but Griffin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Griffin shoots in but no luck this time.
Griffin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davis's waist but Davis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Griffin off to one side.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Griffin passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Griffin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Davis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davis tries to get out of the position.
