Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danny Downing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Downing comes to the cage accompanied by Ya Life's on the line by 50 Cent. Jack Major is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Major!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downing swats away the attempt to clinch by Major.
Major fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Major shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Downing as he jumps to the side.

Downing gets the takedown into side control.
Major trying his best to control but Downing has mounted him.
Downing tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Downing really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Major tries to improve his position but instead Downing has taken his back!

Major is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Downing controlling the position well here. Major rolled but Downing kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Downing seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Major for as long as he can get away with.
Major is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Downing off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee stands the fighters back up. Danny Downing just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Downing shoots in but Major avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Downing closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Downing lands in his opponent's guard.
Downing sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Major's guard.
Downing works his foot free and advances to mount.
Major is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Downing controlling the position easily from mount.
Major is trying to stand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Downing works his way to his opponent's back.
Good control from Downing.
Major trying to control but not successfully.
Major is breathing heavily.
Major is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

What can Major do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Downing has the hooks in. Major is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Downing keeps control of the position easily here as Major tries to buck him off.
Downing's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Downing shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Downing tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Major takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Major tries to lock up and control but Downing gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

and Major decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Downing's guard.

Downing has control of Major's left arm, preventing Major from doing any damage.

Major is looking to stand up but Downing won't let him.

Major is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Downing is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Downing has escaped and now he's on top!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Danny Downing.
Well Downing has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
