Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hitoshi Matsumoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumoto has chosen Otep - Blood Pigs as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hitoshi Matsumoto! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones looks for a takedown but Matsumoto sprawls well. Matsumoto tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.
Jones slips a jab from Matsumoto. Matsumoto is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Matsumoto shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a shoot takedown. Matsumoto fights it but they end up in guard. Matsumoto tries to land a sweep but no joy. Matsumoto is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Matsumoto throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Matsumoto closes the distance but Jones moves to the side and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones. Jones won't allow Matsumoto to get back to his feet. Jones controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Jones prevents Matsumoto from getting back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Matsumoto is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Matsumoto trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Matsumoto looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Jones shoots in and drives through. Matsumoto sprawls well. Jones drives through with a takedown into guard. Jones trying to control but Matsumoto is working from the bottom. Jones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Matsumoto is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Matsumoto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard. Jones wants to sweep but no luck. Jones has his foot on Matsumoto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Matsumoto works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Jones slows the pace down in half guard. Matsumoto is trying to get back to full guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Matsumoto wants to get back to his feet.
Matsumoto looks gassed! Jones slows the pace down in half guard. Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Matsumoto for as long as he can get away with.

Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A slow jab from Matsumoto misses its intended target. Matsumoto closes the distance but Jones moves to the side and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Matsumoto! Jones controlling the pace for now. Matsumoto wants to control but Jones is having none of it. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time. Matsumoto wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away. Matsumoto is working to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones controlling the position easily from mount. Matsumoto keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Matsumoto is breathing heavily. Jones controlling his opponent. Matsumoto sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Matsumoto wants to get back to full guard. Jones controlling the action here. Jones passes the guard and advances to mount! Jones controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones looking for a guillotine from mount but Matsumoto is having none of it. Jones controlling from the full mount. Matsumoto is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Jones wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones with a poor takedown and Matsumoto holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Matsumoto stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Jon Jones dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Matsumoto with a poor takedown and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Matsumoto won't be happy with that. Matsumoto gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Jones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones wants to control the pace but Matsumoto is squirming around nicely. Jones content just to control the position here. Jones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Matsumoto tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jones is in Matsumoto's guard. Matsumoto keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Matsumoto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones stops Matsumoto from standing up. Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Matsumoto is keeping the position for now.

Matsumoto wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position. Matsumoto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Matsumoto doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Matsumoto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there. Jon Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Matsumoto is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones stalling.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
