PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Silakka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silakka has chosen Timo ottelee as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Timo Silakka was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Timo Silakka!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Child shoots for a takedown but Silakka saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silakka finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Child fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Silakka darts in and clinches Child up against the cage.

Silakka turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Child sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Silakka seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Child does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Child is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Silakka is tying to control. Child wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Child tries to roll over but Silakka keeps him under control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silakka.
Silakka cracks Child with a big elbow.

Silakka is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Child's shoulder. That is not cool.

You can see the frustration on Child's face as Silakka controls the position.

I really don't envy Child right now.
Silakka really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Child.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Child turns into Silakka and is now in his guard.

Child drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silakka dives on top into guard.

Child is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Child working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silakka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Child is tightening it up a little... Silakka has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Silakka reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Silakka taps out! nice BJJ there by Child!
