Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kleverson Parelheiros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Major! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kleverson Parelheiros! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parelheiros tries to clinch there but Major circles away.
Parelheiros scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Major is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Parelheiros is controlling him well. Parelheiros thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Major tries to improve position but can't. Parelheiros tries for a kimura but Major is defending well. Parelheiros working the ground and pound but Major is defending the strikes. Major bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Major looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Parelheiros looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Major trying to control from half guard but Parelheiros is working away. Major knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Parelheiros on the ground. Parelheiros trying to control from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Major trying to control but Parelheiros is working from the bottom. Major is really struggling to control Parelheiros but he's trying to hold on to the position. Major throwing strikes from guard but Parelheiros blocks nicely. Major is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Parelheiros is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Major is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matt Major. Parelheiros shoots and misses so Major counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Parelheiros looks gassed! Major is looking to stand up but Parelheiros won't let him. Parelheiros is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Major lands an elbow inside. Parelheiros is working for takedown but Major is calmly controlling the position for now. Matt Major has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kleverson Parelheiros. Major lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Major utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Major slowing the pace effectively. This has been an exciting period of action! Parelheiros ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Parelheiros no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Major wants to control from the top but Parelheiros keeps moving. Parelheiros can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Major controls the pace. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Major keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Parelheiros's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matt Major will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Major decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Major rushes Parelheiros and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Parelheiros jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Major walks away with a smile on his face. Parelheiros gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Major moves into range and clinches up with Parelheiros. Parelheiros tries to score a body lock takedown but Major shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Major's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Major closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Parelheiros to the mat! Parelheiros manages to get full guard. Major has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Parelheiros looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Major can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Major got a little sloppy there for a moment and Parelheiros has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Major has managed to get both his arms back between Parelheiros's legs - danger averted. Matt Major is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Major showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Parelheiros lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Major! Major is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Major taking shots to the head. Parelheiros looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Major is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Parelheiros lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Parelheiros lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Major hang on? Major wants to hold on but Parelheiros pushes him away. Parelheiros is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Major has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kleverson Parelheiros has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Major tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Major showed his dominance in that final round. Well Major has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
