Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lights Out!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Shepperson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepperson shoots in and gets a takedown into Out's guard.
Shepperson throws a big right hand that misses.
Shepperson postures up in Out's guard and throws a big left but Out blocks it.
Out wants to stand but Shepperson is controlling the position.
Shepperson is working Out over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Shepperson throwing strikes from guard but Out blocks nicely.
Shepperson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Shepperson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Shepperson pushes down on Out's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Shepperson throws a strike but Out avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Out bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Shepperson's guard.
Out wants to control from the top but Shepperson keeps moving.
Out lands a couple of elbows.
Shepperson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Out. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Shepperson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Out wants to control from the top but Shepperson keeps moving.
Out tries to free his leg and advance position but Shepperson is retaining full guard.
Out stands and throws Shepperson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Out wants to control but Shepperson is keeping him busy.

Shepperson controls the position for a moment.
Shepperson is not content to let Out control the position.

Out wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shepperson, who protects the arm well.

Shepperson holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

Out is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shepperson has escaped the position, nice work there.
Out will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Out wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Shepperson, who protects the arm well.
Out is breathing heavily.
Shepperson tries to improve position but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Out wants to lay and pray for a moment but Shepperson keeps working.
Shepperson is looking for a sweep.
Shepperson is not content to let Out control the position.
Shepperson is pushing Out's head away, looking to escape. Out manages to hold on to the position though.
Out sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Shepperson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Out goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shepperson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Out's guard! Nice work there by Shepperson!
Shepperson throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Shepperson dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Shepperson clinches.
Out has Shepperson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shepperson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Out is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Shepperson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Shepperson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Out tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shepperson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Shepperson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Out takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Out avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Shepperson.
Shepperson grinds an elbow into Out's temple.
Shepperson is breathing heavily.
Out manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Out is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Out wants to control but Shepperson is keeping him busy.
Out has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Out can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shepperson is looking to escape.
Shepperson blocking the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Out is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Shepperson is surviving well by controlling Out's body position as best he can.

Out is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Shepperson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Shepperson shrugs it off.
Out can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shepperson is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shepperson is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Out wants to control the pace but Shepperson is squirming around nicely.

Out is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shepperson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Shepperson wants to control but Out is having none of it.
Out trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Out thowing shots but they're missing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Out has hold of Shepperson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Shepperson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Out sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Out working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shepperson is looking to improve his position but Out isn't that keen on the idea.
Shepperson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Shepperson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Out shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Out showed some decent athleticism there.
Out is trying to control the action in half guard but Shepperson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Shepperson is concentrating on defense, preventing Out from advancing position.

Out in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Shepperson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Out!
