Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bjoern Lohmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zach Perez will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bjoern Lohmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zach Perez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Perez moves into the clinch.
Lohmann gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Perez.
Perez wants a takedown but no success here.
Lohmann could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Perez pulls guard.
Perez has control of Lohmann's left arm, preventing Lohmann from doing any damage.
Lohmann stays in close to Perez's body and controls the position.

Lohmann slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Lohmann wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving.
Perez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lohmann not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Lohmann might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Perez uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Perez misses with a kick to the body.
No luck for Lohmann with that takedown attempt.
Lohmann shoots for a double leg takedown but Perez sprawls well. He's pushed Lohmann's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lohmann tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lohmann misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lohmann darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Perez controlling the position for now.
Lohmann knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground.

Lohmann is breathing heavily.
Lohmann pushes Perez off and scrambles back to his feet.
Lohmann closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Perez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bjoern Lohmann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zach Perez.
Perez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lohmann gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Lohmann prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lohmann blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Perez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lohmann smiles and moves away.
Lohmann wants to clinch.

Perez stuffs the takedown attempt from Lohmann. Lohmann gets slowly back to his feet.
Perez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lohmann, pushing him back against the cage.
Perez can't get the takedown.
Perez tries to pull guard but Lohmann won't allow it.
Perez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Perez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Perez has his takedown stuffed
and Lohmann counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Perez!
Perez is looking to get to half guard.
Perez regains half guard.
Perez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lohmann's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lohmann's back!
Perez lands punches and elbows.
Perez has good solid back control here.
Lohmann is trapped and Perez is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Perez scores with punches from the back.
Perez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Perez slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Perez tries to get the hooks in deep but Lohmann pushed the leg off.
Perez lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Perez.
Perez is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Lohmann has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Perez has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Lohmann taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Perez doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Zach Perez!
