Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Sacks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jeremy Sacks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Sacks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerald Hodges! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sacks scores with a takedown into Hodges's guard. Hodges keeping full guard, as Sacks tries to pass. Sacks wants to control from the top but Hodges keeps moving. Sacks wants to pass the guard but Hodges is keeping the position. Hodges keeping moving, preventing Sacks from controlling successfully. Sacks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sacks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sacks passes Hodges's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hodges pushes Sacks off looking to stand but Sacks dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sacks seems to be looking for submissions.
Sacks content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Sacks tries to pass to full mount but Hodges defends it. Sacks moves nicely into side control. Hodges tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hodges prevents Sacks from moving into mount. Sacks working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sacks tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hodges's legs. Sacks swings around for an armbar but Hodges sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sacks's guard. Hodges not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Sacks wants to improve his position but instead Hodges has moved into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sacks works his way to full guard. Good work. Sacks is looking for a triangle but Hodges pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Sacks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hodges defends well. Sacks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hodges can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Sacks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sacks has his hands on Hodges's head, controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Sacks wants to sweep here but Hodges controlling him for the moment. Sacks is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hodges tries to stand but Sacks is controlling from the bottom. Sacks looking for a sweep. Not yet Sacks, not yet.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hodges scores with a nice right hand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sacks misses with a straight left. Sacks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hodges sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sacks somewhat. Sacks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hodges as he avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremy Sacks dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sacks walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Sacks misses with a hook. An inside leg kick from Hodges misses. Sacks misses with a low kick. Sacks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hodges.
Sacks thows a leg kick but Hodges checks it and Hodges makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. An inside leg kick lands from Hodges. Hodges misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sacks takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Sacks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Hodges feints and then cracks Sacks's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sacks down. Sacks shoots in and gets a takedown into Hodges's guard. Sacks tries to free his leg and advance position but Hodges is retaining full guard. Hodges is pulling down on Sacks's head. It's preventing any offense from Sacks, at least for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sacks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Sacks passes easily into side control. Nice work. Sacks trying to control the action but Hodges is working from the bottom. Sacks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sacks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The strikes coming from Sacks are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sacks tries for a kimura but Hodges is defending well. Sloppy strikes there by Sacks. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hodges is trying to improve his position. Hodges prevents Sacks from improving position. Hodges manages to work his way to half guard, despite Sacks's best efforts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sacks wants to pass the guard but Hodges is defending well.

Sacks wants to control the action but instead Hodges gets a body lock and reverses into Sacks's guard! Nice work! Sacks keeping moving, preventing Hodges from controlling successfully. Sacks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hodges is aware though and is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hodges won't allow Sacks to sweep him here. Sacks lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hodges! Sacks with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Sacks trying to control but Hodges is having none of it. Sacks forces the positional change into back control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremy Sacks dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Sacks tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A shot to the body from Sacks misses and Hodges counters with a leg kick. Sacks moves out of range as Hodges throws a body kick.
Sacks throws out a loose jab but Hodges uses good head movement to avoid it. Sacks tries to score with a low kick but Hodges moves his leg out of the way. Hodges staying out of range there. Hodges dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sacks. That did some damage! Hodges lands a jab. An inside leg kick lands from Hodges. Sacks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hodges manages to avoid it. Sacks takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sacks shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sacks goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hodges is on top in guard.
Sacks escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hodges gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sacks has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hodges has passed into side control.
Sacks is looking for a sweep. Sacks manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hodges's best efforts. Gerald Hodges has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hodges decides to return to a standing position. Sacks blocks a head kick by Hodges.
Sacks shoots in looking for a takedown. Hodges tries to sprawl out of it but Sacks keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hodges manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hodges moves away from the strike by Sacks. Hodges lands an overhand right. Both fighters circling a little - Hodges finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Hodges slaps away a takedown attempt from Sacks, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sacks fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hodges sprawls well initially but Sacks persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Sacks wants to control but Hodges is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sacks looks to land a strike but Hodges avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Sacks trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sacks looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Jeremy Sacks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hodges working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sacks. Hodges is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sacks is controlling him. Sacks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Sacks stops Hodges from standing up. Jeremy Sacks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Hodges tries to land a leg kick but Sacks saw it coming and moves away.
Sacks throws a lazy head kick and Hodges counters with a head kick. Sacks misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Sacks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sacks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hodges's waist but Hodges gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sacks off to one side. Sacks shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hodges's guard. Sacks wants to pass the guard but Hodges is keeping the position. Hodges controls Sacks momentarily but Sacks frees himself. Sacks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sacks slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Gerald Hodges. I think Sacks has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
