Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Henry Downey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jari Harrikari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Downey kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is we didn't start the fire. The crowd seem to be enjoying Harrikari's choice of entrance music: Tool - Forty Six & 2 . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Downey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jari Harrikari! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harrikari moves into the clinch. Harrikari gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Downey.
Harrikari lands a right hand. Harrikari ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Harrikari no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Downey stopping the sweep attempt from Harrikari. Harrikari is trying to keep Downey in close.
Harrikari preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Downey wants to stand but Harrikari is controlling his posture from full guard. Harrikari has control of Downey's left arm, preventing Downey from doing any damage. Downey cracks Harrikari with a solid left hand. Downey stopping the sweep attempt from Harrikari. Downey throws a strike but Harrikari rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Harrikari is fighting to break Downey's control of his arms but Downey is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Harrikari drops back, looking for a kneebar! Downey looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Downey looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Downey! Harrikari can't do much from the bottom here. Downey is trying to ground and pound but Harrikari uses the momentary lack of control by Downey to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Harrikari keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Harrikari is doing well to control the position and prevent Downey from advancing to side control. Downey throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Downey thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Downey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harrikari's head. Downey tries to stand and escape but Harrikari actually recovers to full guard. Downey has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Harrikari working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Downey. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Downey tries to stand but Harrikari is controlling from the bottom. Harrikari manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Downey wants to control but Harrikari is having none of it. Harrikari working for a submission but Downey is keeping him at bay. Downey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Harrikari wants to finish this one by submission but Downey is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Harrikari. Harrikari fails to move to back control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Downey tries to hold on but Harrikari pushes him away. Harrikari wants to finish this one by submission but Downey is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Harrikari. Downey is trying to escape the mount.
Harrikari goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Downey turns into him and now he's in Harrikari's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Downey is looking to work some ground and pound but Harrikari has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jari Harrikari dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Downey has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Harrikari avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Harrikari throws a head punch that misses. Harrikari lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Downey. Harrikari throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Downeys head. Harrikari working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Harrikari lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Downey backwards. Downey has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Harrikari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Harrikari throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Harrikari lands a nice uppercut. Harrikari lands a right hand. Downey's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Harrikari digs a right hand underneath Downey's ribcage. Downey let out a lung full of air as it connected. Harrikari scores with a nice hook to the head. Harrikari scores with a shot to the side of Downey's head. Harrikari lands with a light punch inside. Harrikari works on Downey's body with a couple of short punches. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Harrikari creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Downey breaks the clinch.
Downey takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Harrikari thuds his right hand into Downey's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jari Harrikari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Downey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harrikari defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Downey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harrikari lands a glancing blow to the side of Downey's head. Downey has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Harrikari. Henry Downey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Harrikari lands a nice looking body shot.
Downey gets tackled into the cage by Harrikari. Harrikari maintains the clinch. Still in the clinch, Harrikari scores with a nice short uppercut. A short right hand to the side of the head by Harrikari. Harrikari lands with a light punch inside. Harrikari just leaning against Downey, taking a breather. Harrikari decides to pull guard. Downey missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Harrikari avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harrikari has control of Downey's left arm, preventing Downey from doing any damage.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Downey postures up in Harrikari's guard and throws a big left but Harrikari blocks it. Downey with a nice head shot there. Harrikari preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Downey working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Harrikari looking to control.
Downey wants to pass the guard but Harrikari is keeping the position. Downey in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Harrikari is looking for a triangle but Downey pushes his legs off easily.

Harrikari working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Downey. Downey throws and elbow that misses. Harrikari uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Downey's guard. Nice move by Harrikari! Downey looking to hit a scissor sweep but Harrikari is one step ahead there. Harrikari missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Harrikari drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Downey manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Harrikari has Downey in his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Downey stands up from guard. Let's bang! Downey walks forward, straight into a front kick from Harrikari. Downey wants to clinch. Harrikari uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Downey. Downey misses with a low kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Downey sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Jari Harrikari is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Harrikari throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Harrikari throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Jari Harrikari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
A chopping leg kick lands by Harrikari. Harrikari connects with a solid leg kick. Harrikari is looking to slow Downey down with leg kicks. Harrikari lands with a slapping head kick. Downey misses with a body shot
and Harrikari counters with a left to the body. Downey takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Downey gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Harrikari connects with a high kick. Harrikari connects with a solid leg kick. Harrikari lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Downey takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Harrikari lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Downey backwards. Downey throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Harrikaris head. Harrikari scores with a shoulder strike. Downey blocking some punches.
Downey changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Harrikari fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Harrikari lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Harrikari keeps Downey at a distance using the push kick. Harrikari's corner calls for a 1-2. Harrikari obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Downey takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Downey tries to move into range but Harrikari moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Harrikari bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Henry Downey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Downey keeps the fight on the outside. Harrikari sizes up Downey with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Downey on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Harrikari. Harrikari obviously looking to wear him down.
Downey is looking to clinch. Harrikari has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Downey shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harrikari pinned against the cage. Harrikari gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Harrikari rushes Downey and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Harrikari connects with a nasty looking knee right to Downey's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Downey tries to break free but Harrikari pushes him back against the cage. Downey is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Downey is trying to drag Harrikari to the mat but Harrikari just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's four minutes gone in the round. Harrikari cracks the inside of Downey's front leg. Downey tries to keep at a distance but Harrikari has taken the fight into the clinch. And that's the end of the fight! Jari Harrikari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Harrikari has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
