Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mushka Nalbandion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mad Dog Vachon! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nalbandion misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nalbandion fails with an attempt to clinch.
Vachon has managed to clinch.
Vachon manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Vachon wants to stand but Nalbandion is controlling the position. Vachon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Nalbandion wants to control from the top but Vachon keeps moving. Vachon looking for a guillotine here but Nalbandion defends easily.
Vachon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Vachon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nalbandion doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nalbandion manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nalbandion will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Nalbandion tries to free his leg and advance position but Vachon is retaining full guard.

Nalbandion gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Nalbandion wants to control from the top but Vachon keeps moving. Nalbandion controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Vachon has an active guard here but Nalbandion has managed to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mushka Nalbandion. Nalbandion clinches but Vachon breaks the clinch and Vachon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nalbandion's guard. Nalbandion avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Nalbandion utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Vachon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nalbandion is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nalbandion has escaped and now he's on top! Vachon keeping moving, preventing Nalbandion from controlling successfully. Nalbandion is really struggling to control Vachon but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Nalbandion looks to clinch and Vachon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vachon. Nalbandion is looking for a triangle but Vachon pushes his legs off easily.
Nalbandion is breathing heavily. Vachon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nalbandion's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vachon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nalbandion does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Vachon sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Nalbandion defending well though. Nalbandion avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Vachon. Vachon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Vachon is looking for a kimura but Nalbandion is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Vachon to get the leverage. Vachon is trying to control the action in half guard but Nalbandion is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Vachon missing with the ground and pound from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mad Dog Vachon dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nalbandion closes the distance looking to clinch and Vachon counters with a two punch combo. Vachon dodges the punch combination from Nalbandion.
A head kick misses from Nalbandion. Nalbandion lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Vachon dodges the punch combination from Nalbandion.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nalbandion falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vachon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Vachon lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vachon forces his way into half guard. Vachon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Nalbandion is not content to let Vachon control the position. Vachon is trying to work for a kimura but Nalbandion is defending well.

Vachon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vachon wants to work for an arm triangle but Nalbandion is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
