Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Withers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paolo Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Withers comes to the cage accompanied by War Is My Destiny. Da Silva is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Capoeira do Brasil (Sergio Mendes & Brazil 66). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luke Withers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paolo Da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Da Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Withers is just out of range.
Da Silva lands with a good body shot.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Da Silva.
Nice shot lands for Da Silva.
Da Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Da Silva connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Da Silva swings for the body but Withers moves out of range.
Withers displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Da Silva.
Da Silva throws the left hand but Withers avoids the punch easily.

Da Silva shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Da Silva was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Da Silva has control of Withers's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Withers regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Da Silva goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Withers turns into him and now he's in Da Silva's guard.
Da Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Withers is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Da Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Withers manages to get himself to full guard.

Withers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Da Silva looks a forlorn figure.

Da Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Withers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Withers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Da Silva manages to avoid it.
Withers defending well as Da Silva loads up on a big left hand.

Withers closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Withers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Da Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Da Silva is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Withers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Withers's back!

Da Silva is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Withers defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Withers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Da Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Withers has managed to get both his arms back between Da Silva's legs - danger averted.

Paolo Da Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Da Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
