Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, LaDanian Rucker II! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reggie Starr! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Franklyn Lucas and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rucker II scores with a nice right hand.
A combination from Rucker II does no damage. Rucker II tries to clinch up but Starr circles away and keeps his distance. Starr clinches up with Rucker II and pushes him back against the cage. Rucker II lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Starr blocking some punches.
Starr throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Starr pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Rucker II managing to block the knees to the body from Starr.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Starr. Starr has clasped his hands together around Rucker II's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Starr works to advance to full mount. Rucker II defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Starr working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Rucker II really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Rucker II wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rucker II tries to escape the position.
Starr working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Rucker II defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Starr's arms. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Starr tightening his grip on Rucker II, looking for the choke. Starr looks gassed! Starr is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Rucker II wants to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Starr is looking for the choke from the back position but Rucker II is controlling his hands well. Rucker II rolls, trying to escape but Starr keeps control of the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rucker II trying to control the action but Starr just sinks the hooks in. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rucker II looking very determined here, making life difficult for Starr.
Rucker II looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. You can see the frustration on Rucker II's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here.
Rucker II just trying to survive but Starr is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Starr is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Rucker II taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Starr.
