The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sykes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Jackson tries to clinch there but Sykes circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Sykes defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jackson. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sykes sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Jackson moves into full mount! Sykes won't be happy about that! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jackson fails to advance to Sykes's back. Jackson swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
