Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Garcia Vega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Willy Wiggler! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vega avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wiggler looks to land a combination but Vega avoids it well. Vega looks to throw the jab but Wiggler is out of range. Wiggler misses with a low kick as Vega jumps back. Wiggler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vega.
Vega throws a jab when Wiggler was well out of range. Wiggler darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Vega tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wiggler missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wiggler tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vega knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Wiggler not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wiggler is nestled in close to Vega, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Wiggler prevents Vega from standing back up.
Wiggler is keen to just control but Vega is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wiggler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wiggler is controlling the pace.
Wiggler tries to pass to full mount but Vega defends it. Vega wants to improve his position but Wiggler is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wiggler is looking to take a break and control but Vega is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wiggler not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wiggler throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wiggler has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Wiggler is figuring out what he wants to do next. Wiggler lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Well, if Wiggler is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wiggler slips a nice elbow through Vega's hands, connecting with Vega's forehead. Wiggler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Vega's head. Vega wants to get back to his feet. Vega blocking the ground and pound attempt from Wiggler. Vega keeping hold of Wiggler's head, controlling as best he can. Wiggler not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wiggler trying to mount his opponent but Vega defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wiggler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wiggler throws an overhand right that lands on Vega's shoulder, as Vega tries to avoid the shot. Vega checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Wiggler throws a series of punches but Vega moves out of range. Vega connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wiggler. Wiggler circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Wiggler feints and as Vega raises his hands in defense, Wiggler changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wiggler slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Wiggler controlling the position from side mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Willy Wiggler dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Vega uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wiggler.
Wiggler blocks a jab. Wiggler throws a looping overhand right but Vega ducks down to avoid it. Vega tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Wiggler swivels and escapes. Vega blocks a jab. Wiggler fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Vega is out of range. Vega slips under a jab. Willy Wiggler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wiggler shoots in and drives through. Vega sprawls well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wiggler doesn't manage to clinch there - Vega circles away.
Vega fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wiggler looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Wiggler misses with an uppercut. Vega swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vega fails with a takedown attempt. Wiggler misses with a body shot.
Wiggler clinches up against the cage. Wiggler tries to throw a body punch but Vega avoids it by throwing Wiggler back against the cage. Vega wants to break the clinch but can't.
Vega wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wiggler has him pressed against the cage. Vega looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Wiggler can't get the takedown.
Wiggler misses with the head strike.
Vega is trying to break free. Vega tries a body shot but Wiggler blocks it.
Vega has had enough of the clinch but Wiggler keeps him there for the moment. Wiggler gets a trip takedown into half guard. Wiggler thows a huge punch but Vega dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Vega is staying active underneath Wiggler, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Wiggler stalling away here and it's allowed Vega to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Wiggler wants to control from the top but Vega keeps moving. Vega is looking to stand up but Wiggler isn't so interested in that idea. Wiggler trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Vega swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Vega throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wiggler tries to work over Vega's front leg with a kick but Vega checks it. Vega swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wiggler. Wiggler throws an overhand right that lands on Vega's shoulder, as Vega tries to avoid the shot. Vega checks a low kick from Wiggler. Vega throws a jab when Wiggler was well out of range. Wiggler misses with an uppercut. Vega saw that one coming. Wiggler throws a jab but it's blocked by Vega. The fight stays on the outside here - Wiggler looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Wiggler takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Vega lands a right hook to the body.
Wiggler shoots for a takedown but Vega saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Garcia Vega has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Willy Wiggler. Wiggler is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wiggler moves out of range of the strikes. Vega blocks a leg kick. Vega checks the leg kick. Wiggler looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Wiggler throws a big right hand that misses. Vega manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Vega knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wiggler on the ground. Vega content just to control the position here. Wiggler is squirming around, avoiding Vega's attempts to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Garcia Vega dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
A telegraphed right hand from Vega misses the target. Wiggler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vega to the mat! Vega manages to get full guard. Wiggler cracks Vega with a solid left hand. Vega not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wiggler postures up in Vega's guard and throws a big left but Vega blocks it. Wiggler slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Wiggler throws and elbow that misses. Vega uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wiggler's guard. Nice move by Vega! Wiggler has his hands on Vega's head, controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wiggler wants to sweep here but Vega controlling him for the moment. Vega trying to control the position from guard on top but Wiggler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wiggler bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vega's guard. Wiggler wants to control from the top but Vega keeps moving. Wiggler throwing strikes from guard but Vega blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Wiggler trying to control the position from guard on top but Vega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wiggler thows a big elbow that misses. Wiggler is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Vega keeping moving, preventing Wiggler from controlling successfully. Wiggler postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wiggler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Wiggler. Vega scores with a decent looking hook. Wiggler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vega.

And that's the end of the fight! Willy Wiggler comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Wiggler has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
