The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Samson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

and Samson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Khanmak's guard now.
Samson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Samson pushes down on Khanmak's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Khanmak tries to roll over but Samson keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Khanmak is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Khanmak really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Samson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Samson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Samson looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Samson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Samson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Paul Samson.
Khanmak closes the distance looking to clinch

and Samson counters with a shoot takedown. Khanmak fights it but they end up in guard.
Samson passes into half guard.

Still in half guard, Samson seems content to control.
Khanmak wants to get back to his feet.

Samson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Khanmak is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
