Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phillipe Render (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanislav Tarasenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Render has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Phillipe Render has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phillipe Render! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanislav Tarasenko! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tarasenko pushes Render up against the cage in a clinch. Tarasenko misses with a short punch on the inside. Render tries to break free but Tarasenko pushes him back against the cage. Render tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tarasenko just stands there and leans against the cage. Tarasenko manages to pull guard.
Tarasenko has a closed guard, preventing Render from standing up. Tarasenko is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Render preventing the sweep. Tarasenko wants to hit a switch here but Render passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tarasenko there! Tarasenko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarasenko can't escape the position.
Render lands a big shot there that rocks Tarasenko but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Tarasenko holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Render tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Render prevents Tarasenko from getting the reversal. Render avoids the attempt from Tarasenko to control. Tarasenko doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? Render trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tarasenko tries to improve his position but instead Render has taken his back! Render has Tarasenko flattened out and is raining down punches. Render trying to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Render keeps control of the position as Tarasenko tries to break free.
Tarasenko rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarasenko is trying to maintain the position but Render is very close to passing his half guard. Render wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tarasenko keeps working. Tarasenko tries to roll over but Render keeps him under control. Render is looking to take a break and control but Tarasenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Render is breathing heavily. Tarasenko looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tarasenko is controlling Render's trapped leg to prevent Render from advancing to side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Phillipe Render just wasn't active enough. Render shoots in for a takedown but Tarasenko shows good takedown defense. Render shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tarasenko defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phillipe Render. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice sprawl there from Tarasenko as Render shoots in. Some wild striking there from Tarasenko.
Tarasenko fails with the takedown so Render counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tarasenko manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Render avoids a punch combination nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phillipe Render dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Render tries to clinch but Tarasenko is having none of it. Render is looking to clinch. Tarasenko moves into the clinch. Tarasenko breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tarasenko avoids a punch combination nicely.
Render walks into a stiff left hand from Tarasenko. Tarasenko with a poor takedown and Render counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Tarasenko is trying to get back to full guard. Render trying to control the action but Tarasenko is working from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tarasenko kicks Render off and gets back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Render tries to close the distance and clinch but Tarasenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Tarasenko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Render manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Tarasenko gets to his feet. Render looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Tarasenko wants to clinch and Render decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tarasenko's guard. Tarasenko keeping moving, preventing Render from controlling successfully. Tarasenko wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Render trying to control the position from guard on top but Tarasenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tarasenko has control of Render's left arm, preventing Render from doing any damage. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tarasenko scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tarasenko is staying tight to Render's torso, preventing him from escaping. Phillipe Render overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Tarasenko trying to control the action but Render is working from the bottom. Render tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tarasenko controlling from side mount. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Stanislav Tarasenko has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Tarasenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tarasenko trying to control but Render is working from the bottom. Render controls Tarasenko momentarily but Tarasenko frees himself. Render is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tarasenko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Tarasenko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Tarasenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Tarasenko wants to stand but Render has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Render controls Tarasenko momentarily but Tarasenko frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stanislav Tarasenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Render's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Tarasenko is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Render's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Render's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Tarasenko looking for the choke from the back. I would not like to be Render right now.
Tarasenko doesn't have the hooks in and Render manages to turn into his guard.
Tarasenko kicks Render off and gets to his feet. Tarasenko misses with a takedown attempt and Render counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tarasenko keeping moving, preventing Render from controlling successfully. Tarasenko keeping full guard, as Render tries to pass.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Render throws a strike but Tarasenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Tarasenko has gone for a leg lock! Render slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tarasenko's guard. Tarasenko wants to stand but Render is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Render sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tarasenko's guard. Tarasenko trying to control here.
Render is looking to take a break and control but Tarasenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tarasenko trying to control from the bottom.
Tarasenko moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Render trying to control the position from guard on top but Tarasenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tarasenko controlling the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tarasenko can do anything to dispel that myth.
Phillipe Render has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Tarasenko moves in looking to clinch but Render pushes him off. Tarasenko fails with a takedown attempt. Render feints and as Tarasenko raises his hands in defense, Render changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Phillipe Render showed his dominance in that final round. I think Render has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
