Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Kistner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Willis! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Willis wants to clinch up but Kistner keeps it at a distance. Willis is looking to clinch. Kistner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Willis swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kistner counters with a right hand to the body. Willis throws a series of punches but Kistner moves out of range. Kistner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Willis.
Kistner tests Willis's chin there with a solid looking shot. Willis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kistner counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kistner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Willis tries to avoid it but Kistner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Willis to the ground. Willis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kistner misses with a takedown attempt - Willis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Willis gets caught flat footed, as Kistner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Willis wants to stand but Kistner is controlling the position. Kistner throws and elbow that misses. Willis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kistner's guard. Nice move by Willis! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kistner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Willis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kistner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Willis. Willis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Willis connects with a couple of short punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Willis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kistner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Willis stopping the sweep attempt from Kistner. Kistner avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Willis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Willis stops Kistner from standing up. Willis trying to control but Kistner is working from the bottom. Willis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kistner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Willis on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Willis with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Kistner is breathing heavily. Willis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Willis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Willis is working Kistner over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Willis scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Willis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kistner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Willis is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Willis with a nice head shot there. Kistner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Willis. Willis makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Willis is looking to work some ground and pound but Kistner has wrist control. Willis trying to control the position from guard on top but Kistner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kistner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Willis cracks Kistner with a solid left hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Willis stopping the sweep attempt from Kistner. Willis is in close to Kistner's body, working some short punches and elbows. Willis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Willis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Kistner keeping moving, preventing Willis from controlling successfully. Willis cracks Kistner with a solid left hand. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Willis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Willis stands up over Kistner, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Steve Willis dominated that round. That's time! Kistner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Willis misses with a two punch combination.
Nice uppercut lands for Kistner. That snapped Willis's head back.
Willis lands with a hook. Kistner tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Willis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kistner counters with a nice body kick. Willis fails in his attempt to clinch. Willis misses with a double jab
and Kistner counters with a stiff right hand. Kistner loses concentration momentarily and Willis pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Kistner crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Willis finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Steve Willis!
