Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ralph O Briar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Gray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Briar comes to the cage accompanied by The Boys of the Old Brigade. Ralph O Briar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Briar fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gray misses with a leg kick.
Gray keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gray attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
O Briar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
O Briar misses with a wild body shot.
Gray scores with a jab to the body.
Gray feints and then cracks O Briar's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow O Briar down.
O Briar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gray.
Gray lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Gray throws an uppercut from half a mile away. O Briar sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A head kick misses from Gray.
O Briar swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
O Briar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gray throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gray takes one on the button.
O Briar pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Gray uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from O Briar.

and Gray counters with an outside leg kick.

O Briar stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Gray.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
O Briar on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Gabriel Gray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ralph O Briar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

O Briar is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gray.
O Briar tries to move into range but Gray moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Oh O Briar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gray swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
O Briar seems to have got his legs back now.
Gray misses with a two punch combination.
Gray connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A chopping leg kick lands by Gray.
O Briar checks a low kick from Gray.
Gray fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and O Briar has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Gray throws a low kick but O Briar moves out of range easily.
Gray connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Gray thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on O Briar if he has to take too many more of those.
Gray lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gray throws a chopping leg kick but O Briar manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Gray tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but O Briar was well out of range. Poor timing from Gray.

O Briar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gray sees it coming and avoids it easily.

O Briar tries to clinch but Gray moves out of range.
O Briar is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
O Briar scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Gray misses with an uppercut. O Briar saw that one coming.
Gray throws a jab but it's blocked by O Briar.
O Briar is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gray.
Gray tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gray throws a nice inside leg kick.
O Briar tries to close the distance and clinch but Gray swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gray throws a head kick but O Briar moves out of range.
O Briar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gabriel Gray dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Gray gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gray wants to stand and escape but O Briar is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
O Briar throwing strikes from guard but Gray blocks nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
O Briar connects with a couple of short punches.
Gray has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gray utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
O Briar is working Gray over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
O Briar postures up in Gray's guard and throws a big left but Gray blocks it.

Gray manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. O Briar manages to get himself to full guard.
Gray is breathing heavily.
O Briar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gray has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. O Briar is working away from the top position though.
O Briar looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gray with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gray is trying to defend against the ground and pound but O Briar scores with a couple of nice shots.

O Briar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Gray is refusing to be controlled, as O Briar sits in half guard.

Gray really doesn't want to stay on the ground with O Briar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gray is looking for a sweep. O Briar is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

O Briar is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Gray is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
