Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Santi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustav stiengratz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
stiengratz scores with a takedown into Santi's guard.

stiengratz has gone for a leg lock! Santi slips out almost immediately though and dives into stiengratz's guard.
Santi trying to control but stiengratz is working from the bottom.
Santi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but stiengratz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Santi has stiengratz in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santi can't keep his opponent in guard - stiengratz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Santi goes for an armbar but he's not got it… stiengratz turns into him and now he's in Santi's guard.

stiengratz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Santi throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Santi wants to control but stiengratz is keeping him busy.
Santi advances to mount.
stiengratz is trying desperately to improve position.
Santi manages to capitalize on a mistake by stiengratz to take his back!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Chris Santi will probably get the nod.

stiengratz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Santi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten stiengratz somewhat.
Santi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. stiengratz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Santi is in stiengratz's guard.
Santi is pushing down on stiengratz's leg trying to pass to half guard. stiengratz is fighting to maintain full guard but Santi has managed to sneak the leg through.
Santi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
