Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Preston Schmidli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmidli comes to the cage accompanied by Swimming with Dolphins - Fast Car. Adams is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rihanna - So Hard. Tim Adams will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Adams stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A lazy left from Adams finds it's target.
Adams shoots in but no luck this time.
Adams misses with the combination.
Adams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schmidli as he jumps to the side.
Adams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schmidli checks a low kick from Adams.

Adams gets in close and instigates a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Schmidli throws an elbow but misses.
Adams dodges an elbow strike from Schmidli.

Adams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Adams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schmidli moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Adams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Preston Schmidli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Adams.

Adams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Adams tries to bum rush Schmidli with a series of wild strikes but Schmidli uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Adams throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Adams scores with a three punch combo!
Schmidli keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tim Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adams looks gassed!
Schmidli tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Adams paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Adams looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Adams scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

and Schmidli counters by moving into the clinch.
Adams looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Schmidli decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Schmidli is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Adams is aware though and is defending well.
Schmidli is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Adams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Adams avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Schmidli is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Adams defends well.

Schmidli working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
