Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaspar Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris's entrance music is Sad But True. A fine choice. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jaspar Davis enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Harris! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jaspar Davis! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis swats away the attempt to clinch by Harris. Harris tries to close the distance and clinch but Davis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Davis tries to move into range but Harris moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Davis with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Harris to score with a decent uppercut. Frank Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Harris.
Davis looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Harris is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Davis is aware though and is defending well. Davis trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom. Harris wants to get back to his feet but Davis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. That's one minute gone in the round. Davis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Davis stands and throws Harris's legs to the side, diving into side control. Davis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Harris dodges the ground and pound from Davis. Davis decides to stand back up. Davis shoots in and bounces Harris off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Harris keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Davis throwing strikes from guard but Harris blocks nicely. Davis trying to control the position from guard on top but Harris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Davis stops Harris from standing up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jaspar Davis was stalling too much, according to the referee. Harris throws a right hand that Davis ducks under and follows up with a left that Davis also avoids with ease. Harris throws a shot from downtown. Davis moves away and avoids it. Harris fails to land with a series of punches.
Harris is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davis's half guard. Harris missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Davis wants to control but Harris is keeping busy.

A close round but Jaspar Davis will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Davis jabs at Harris's body. Davis clinches up with Harris and pushes him back against the cage. Harris working hard to break the clinch. Harris swings wildly with an uppercut but Davis uses good head movement to avoid it. Harris gets control of Davis's arms and successfully pulls guard. Harris will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Davis is looking to advance position but Harris has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Davis swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Harris throwing strikes but Davis uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Davis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Davis trying to control here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Davis is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Harris's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Harris's back! What can Harris do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis wants to control but Harris manages to buck him off and is now in Davis's guard! Nice work there by Harris! Harris throws a big right hand that misses. Davis wants to sweep here but Harris controlling him for the moment. Harris throws and elbow that misses. Davis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Harris's guard. Nice move by Davis! Davis won't allow Harris to get back to his feet. Davis wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Davis defends it easily. Harris wants to get back to his feet but Davis is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Davis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Harris is keeping the position for now.

Davis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harris swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jaspar Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Davis looks to land a combination. Harris sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Frank Harris has been cut. Harris wants to clinch but Davis slips to the side and Davis counters with a nice double leg into guard. Davis passes Harris's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Harris avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Davis. Davis wants to pass to mount but Harris is defending the position. Davis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Davis prevents Harris from improving his position. Harris is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis is looking to advance position but Harris won't allow it. Davis decides to stand up. Harris clinches with his opponent.
Harris is looking to break free of the clinch but Davis has double underhooks. Davis wants a takedown.
Harris jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davis walks away with a smile on his face. Harris gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Davis circles away from the clinch attempt so Davis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Harris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Harris working for a triangle but Davis defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Davis pushes down on Harris's leg and manages to get into half guard. Harris wants to improve his position but Davis is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Davis stops Harris from getting back to his feet.
Harris looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Harris is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Davis pulls his head out easily. Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harris keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Davis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Davis showed some decent athleticism there. Davis wants to control but Harris is keeping him busy. Davis is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Harris still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Harris has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Davis sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Davis regains full guard. Nicely done. Harris throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Davis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Harris missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis trying to control the position.
Harris throwing strikes from guard but Davis blocks nicely. Harris throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Harris postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Harris accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Harris has gone for a leg lock! Davis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Harris's guard. Davis stands and steps away. Harris gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Harris was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Davis manages to regain half guard. Good work. Davis wants to get back to full guard. Davis is defending against the submission attempts here by Harris.

Harris slips a jab from Davis. Davis steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Harris. Harris misses with a takedown attempt and Davis counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Davis. Davis is working for takedown but Harris is calmly controlling the position for now. Harris throws a head punch that misses. Harris throws a punch but it's blocked by Davis. Davis pulls guard. Harris with a flurry of punches that miss. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Davis has Harris pulled in close to control his posture. Davis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Harris manages to get himself to full guard.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Davis trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom. Harris is looking to stand up but Davis isn't so interested in that idea. Davis wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Davis advances position into side control! Davis advances nicely into full mount. Davis goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Harris turns into him and now he's in Davis's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Harris is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Davis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Davis has escaped and now he's on top! Harris escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Davis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Jaspar Davis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Davis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
