Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patryk Fajerwerka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nichiren Daishonin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Patryk Fajerwerka !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nichiren Daishonin!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fajerwerka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Daishonin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Daishonin wants to take a breather but Fajerwerka is having none of it.
Fajerwerka won't allow Daishonin to pass to mount.
Daishonin moves nicely into side control.

Daishonin tries for a kimura but Fajerwerka is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Daishonin controls the position.
You can see the frustration on Fajerwerka 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Fajerwerka wants to control but Daishonin postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Daishonin gets the takedown into side control.

Fajerwerka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Daishonin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Daishonin is pressed up against the cage. Fajerwerka has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Daishonin down to the mat. Daishonin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Patryk Fajerwerka . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Daishonin takes the fight into the clinch.

Daishonin turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Daishonin manages to end up in side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Daishonin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fajerwerka knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fajerwerka is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fajerwerka is squirming around, avoiding Daishonin's attempts to control the action.

Fajerwerka is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nichiren Daishonin dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Daishonin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Daishonin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fajerwerka was covering up waiting for the punch and Daishonin finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Daishonin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fajerwerka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Daishonin has managed to get both his arms back between Fajerwerka 's legs - danger averted.

Nichiren Daishonin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Nichiren Daishonin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Daishonin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
