The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogerio Silva tests Merit's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Mike Merit has been cut.
Rogerio Silva lands a jab to Merit's midsection.
Merit displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rogerio Silva.
Rogerio Silva closes the distance and pushes Merit back into the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Merit fails to pull guard.
Merit tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Rogerio Silva is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Merit pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Merit is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Rogerio Silva is keeping busy.
Merit is working Rogerio Silva over against the cage.
Merit is breathing heavily.
Merit is trying to stall.
Merit wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rogerio Silva gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Rogerio Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Merit stuffs the takedown.
Mike Merit has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Geronimo Rogerio Silva.
Merit throws a series of punches but Rogerio Silva avoids them all with ease.
Rogerio Silva rushes Merit and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Merit has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Rogerio Silva connects with a knee to the head.
Rogerio Silva gets control of Merit's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rogerio Silva will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rogerio Silva wants to stand and escape but Merit is having none of it.
Merit has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rogerio Silva to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Merit is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rogerio Silva pulls down on the head and he's put Merit to sleep! This one is all over!
