The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fisher feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Zaldiar has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Fisher off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Fisher shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fisher trying to control the position from guard on top but Zaldiar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Zaldiar keeping full guard, as Fisher tries to pass. Fisher throwing strikes but missing. Fisher wants to control from the top but Zaldiar keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fisher wants to pass the guard but Zaldiar is keeping the position. Fisher throws a strike but Zaldiar rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Fisher is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Fisher working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Zaldiar. Zaldiar postures up and lands a big shot to Fisher's brow. Fisher is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fisher avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Fisher looking to control.
Zaldiar is working Fisher over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fisher is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Fisher is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fisher in particular looking to stall.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Zaldiar keeping control of the position. Fisher wants to stand up but Zaldiar manages to regain full guard. Zaldiar has control of Fisher's left arm, preventing Fisher from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Roberto Zaldiar has been cut. Fisher misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Zaldiar scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Zaldiar is pressing down on Fisher's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fisher is holding on for now. Fisher is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Zaldiar scores with a couple of nice shots. Fisher is looking to control Zaldiar's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fisher avoid being mounted? Zaldiar missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Zaldiar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Zaldiar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Fisher is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Zaldiar's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Zaldiar's back! Fisher is persistently looking for the submission but Zaldiar is defending it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zaldiar trying to control the action but Fisher just sinks the hooks in. Fisher is looking for the choke from the back position but Zaldiar is controlling his hands well. Fisher not allowing Zaldiar to control his hands.

Fisher is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Zaldiar has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Zaldiar is holding onto Fisher's left hand, preventing any choke attempts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zaldiar defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard. Fisher trying to keep a closed guard but Zaldiar is proving a slippery customer.

That was a close second round but I would say that Roberto Zaldiar will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Roberto Zaldiar's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!
Fisher jabs Zaldiar to the body, keeping him at a distance. Fisher instigates a clinch. Fisher makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Fisher gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Zaldiar regains guard.
Zaldiar keeping moving, preventing Fisher from controlling successfully. Fisher trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Zaldiar looking for a sweep. Not yet Zaldiar, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zaldiar controls Fisher momentarily but Fisher frees himself. Fisher trying to control the position from guard on top but Zaldiar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
John Fisher has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Fisher closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fisher lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fisher looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fisher is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Fisher trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Zaldiar keeping moving, preventing Fisher from controlling successfully.
