The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Valdez. No joy for nike on that attempt.
nike misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Valdez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but nike avoids it really well and circles away.
Valdez looks for a takedown but nike sprawls well.
Valdez jabs nike right on the nose. nike blinks but takes it well.
It looks like mike nike has been cut.
nike doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Valdez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Cain Valdez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mike nike.
nike is trying to drag Valdez to the mat but Valdez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Valdez tries to score a body lock takedown but nike shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

nike is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Valdez pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Valdez has hold of one of nike's legs. nike is fighting the takedown attempt but Valdez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
nike has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Valdez should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, nike has tightened it up now! Valdez should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
