Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Bisping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Bisping!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bisping tries to keep at a distance but Penn has taken the fight into the clinch.
Penn is trying to stall.
Penn has had enough of the clinch but Bisping keeps him there for the moment.

Bisping pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Penn shoots in and gets a takedown into Bisping's guard.

Penn drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bisping dives on top into guard.
Bisping would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Penn on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Penn tries to get out of the position.

Bisping wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.

Penn is trying to control the position but Bisping postures up.

Bisping decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Penn, up you get!

Penn thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bisping to regain full guard.

Bisping is working an open guard so Penn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Penn tries for a takedown but Bisping circles away easily

and Bisping counters with a shoot takedown. Penn fights it but they end up in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bisping is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Penn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Penn is working an open guard so Bisping takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Bisping is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Bisping counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Penn pushes Bisping off and gets back to his feet.
Penn closes the distance but Bisping moves to the side
and Bisping counters with a three punch combo that has Penn backing up. Penn nods at Bisping to acknowledge the strikes.

Bisping breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Penn wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Bisping has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Penn uses from the top position.

Bisping is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bisping throws a nice head kick!

Penn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bisping sprawls well initially but Penn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bisping moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Penn wants to stand but Bisping has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bisping works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bisping has his foot on Penn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Penn works his way back into a safe position though.

Bisping has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Penn off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Penn wants to clinch but Bisping slips to the side

and Bisping counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Bisping stands up and waves to Penn to follow him.

Penn gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Bisping decides to pull guard.
Penn wants to control from the top but Bisping keeps moving.
Penn throws and elbow that misses. Bisping uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Penn's guard. Nice move by Bisping!

Bisping gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Penn avoids the head kick by Bisping.

Penn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bisping sprawls well initially but Penn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Bisping manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Penn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Penn throws a strike but Bisping avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Penn looking to sit in guard and control but Bisping gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bisping lands a couple of elbows.

Penn is working an open guard so Bisping takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Penn shoots in for a takedown but Bisping shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bisping changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Penn tries to avoid it but Bisping manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Penn to the ground. Penn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Penn.

Bisping closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Penn quickly recovers to half guard.

Michael Bisping showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Penn looks to clinch
and Bisping counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Frankie Penn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Penn shoots for a double leg takedown but Bisping sprawls well. He's pushed Penn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bisping escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bisping gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Penn.

Bisping has closed the distance and engaged Penn in a clinch.
Penn wants to break free but Bisping has control.

Bisping breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Penn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bisping's waist but Bisping gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Penn off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frankie Penn. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bisping throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Penn counters by moving into the clinch.

Bisping pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bisping breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Penn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Penn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bisping.

and Bisping counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Bisping keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Penn avoids a punch combination nicely.

Bisping changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Penn looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Penn bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Penn thuds a left hand into Bisping's body.
A head kick from Bisping lands but Penn takes it in his stride.
Penn is looking to wear down Bisping with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Penn shoots in and drives through. Bisping sprawls well.
Bisping is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Penn.
Penn has a takedown stuffed.
Penn tries to clinch but Bisping moves away
and Bisping counters with a head kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bisping just misses with a punch to the body.
Bisping misses with a head kick.
Penn misses with a takedown

and Bisping counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Penn!

Bisping goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Penn turns into him and now he's in Bisping's guard.
Michael Bisping has got the better of the ground game so far.
Penn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Penn wants to control from the top but Bisping keeps moving.

Penn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bisping has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Penn has managed to get both his arms back between Bisping's legs - danger averted.

Penn won't allow Bisping to sweep him here.
Penn postures up in Bisping's guard and throws a big left but Bisping blocks it.

Frankie Penn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Michael Bisping is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Michael Bisping comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bisping winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
