Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cro Cop is defended easily by Stevens.

Stevens instigates a clinch.
Stevens tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cro Cop smiles and moves away.
Stevens shoots in and drives through. Cro Cop sprawls well.

Stevens rushes Cro Cop and presses him up against the cage.

Stevens shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cro Cop as he avoids it easily.

Stevens tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cro Cop swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cro Cop throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stevens's waist but Stevens gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cro Cop off to one side.

Cro Cop throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Stevens fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Stevens drives through and clinches with Cro Cop against the cage.

Cro Cop jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stevens walks away with a smile on his face. Cro Cop gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stevens darts in and clinches Cro Cop up against the cage.
Stevens creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Stevens tries to land a knee to the head but Cro Cop blocks with his arms.

Cro Cop is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Stevens jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cro Cop walks away with a smile on his face. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Cro Cop counters with a nice uppercut.
Cro Cop shoots in for a takedown but Stevens shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cro Cop throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Stevens's head.

Some bone on bone action there as Cro Cop checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Cro Cop is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Stevens gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Cro Cop bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stevens's guard.

Cro Cop wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stevens is pulling down on Cro Cop's head to control his posture.

We're going to have a standup here because Paulo Stevens wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Cro Cop drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stevens manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cro Cop has Stevens in his guard.
