Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mordor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Mordor is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Mordor! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mordor. Jones clinches with his opponent.
Jones slowing the pace effectively. Jones tightens his grip and picks Mordor up, before dumping him to the ground. Mordor manages to land in guard. Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mordor looks gassed! Mordor is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well. Mordor is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Mordor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Jones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
We're going to have a standup here because Paul Jones wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mordor tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch. Jones content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones throws a low kick but it's checked well by Mordor. Mordor fails with the takedown. Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones just content to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mordor is trying to escape the position but Jones is controlling the position. Jones decides to stand back up. Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mordor for as long as he can get away with.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Paul Jones. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Jones is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Jones not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Jones dominated that round. The cut man is working on Max Mordor's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Jones looks to score with a jab to the body but Mordor is just out of range. Mordor with a lazy takedown attempt and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jones landing with the ground and pound. Mordor keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones trying to control but Mordor is working from the bottom. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Mordor is retaining full guard. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Paul Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mordor is breathing heavily.

Paul Jones has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Mordor moves out of range easily. Mordor fails with the takedown and Jones counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mordor's guard now. Mordor has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle. Jones is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mordor keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Mordor keeping full guard, as Jones tries to pass. Jones is working hard here to advance position. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mordor is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jones. Mordor trying his best to control but Jones has mounted him. Jones is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mordor to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mordor shrugs it off. Jones pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mordor on the ground. Jones controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mordor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mordor is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mordor uses from the top position. Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mordor is one step ahead there. Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mordor is aware though and is defending well. Jones trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Mordor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mordor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Jones lands a decent punch to the body there. Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Max Mordor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jones managing to control the position. Paul Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Jones preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Paul Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
