Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sinhjo Babalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierce has chosen Billy Talent - Devil On My Shoulder as his entrance music. Angel Pierce will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sinhjo Babalu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Angel Pierce! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Babalu. That's going to slow Pierce down. Pierce takes a shot right to the bread basket. Babalu pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pierce shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Babalu pinned against the cage. Babalu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pierce fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Pierce shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sinhjo Babalu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angel Pierce. Babalu misses with a hook. Pierce shoots in for a takedown but Babalu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Babalu chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Pierce looks gassed! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pierce dives in and grabs Babalu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Babalu pushes down on Pierce's head and hops out. Pierce shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Babalu as he avoids it easily. Pierce drops his hands momentarily and Babalu takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu throws the kick towards the body but Pierce avoids it. Babalu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Babalu trying to control the pace. Babalu lands with a punch from half guard. Still in half guard, Babalu seems content to control. Babalu is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babalu winds up and cracks Pierce with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Babalu controlling the action here. Babalu decides to stand and escape the position. Pierce takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Pierce gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Babalu makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Babalu misses with an uppercut. Pierce moves out of range as Babalu throws a body kick.

A nice right hand lands inside from Babalu. Babalu stalls. Babalu prevents a takedown attempt there.

Babalu makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Pierce tries to score a body lock takedown but Babalu shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Babalu has Pierce pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Babalu pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pierce tumbling to the mat - Babalu dives into Pierce's guard. Babalu is in close to Pierce's body, working some short punches and elbows. Babalu controlling from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierce is looking for a triangle here but Babalu uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Pierce is looking for a sweep. Babalu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Babalu lands a decent elbow from side control. Pierce is positioning himself to get back to half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Pierce takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Pierce is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Pierce is trying to improve his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sinhjo Babalu dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Pierce gets a takedown into half guard. Babalu is looking for a sweep. Pierce is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Babalu is working hard here to advance position. Babalu makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Babalu. Pierce wants to pass the guard but Babalu is keeping the position. Babalu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pierce manages to get himself to full guard.
Pierce is looking for a triangle but Babalu pushes his legs off easily.
Pierce is breathing heavily. Babalu working some strikes from top position. Babalu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pierce has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Babalu has managed to get both his arms back between Pierce's legs - danger averted. Babalu trying to control but Pierce is working from the bottom. Babalu is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pierce is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Babalu landing with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babalu stands up and waves to Pierce to follow him. Babalu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Angel Pierce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pierce tries for a takedown but Babalu circles away easily and Babalu counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Babalu. Babalu trying to control but Pierce is working from the bottom. Sinhjo Babalu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pierce looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Babalu advances to half guard. Babalu works his foot free and advances to mount.

Babalu landing punches. Babalu trying to control but Pierce is having none of it. Babalu controlling the position easily from mount. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Babalu pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pierce doesn't succeed with the takedown and Babalu counters with a shoot takedown. Pierce fights it but they end up in guard. Babalu lands a couple of decent looking shots. Babalu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pierce working for a triangle but Babalu defends it easily.

Babalu moves nicely into side control. Pierce is looking for a sweep. Pierce takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu lands some shots froms side control. Babalu cracks Pierce with a big right hand but Pierce just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Pierce is trying to improve his position. Pierce is not content to let Babalu control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pierce on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Babalu cracks Pierce with a big elbow. Pierce taking a bit of punishment here - Babalu scoring with strikes. Babalu is looking to take a break and control but Pierce is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babalu working the ground and pound. Pierce tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Babalu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Pierce takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Babalu lands a nice forearm strike. Babalu wants to control but Pierce is keeping him busy. Babalu lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Babalu landing a few strikes. The referee asks Babalu politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Babalu prefers to stall for the moment though. Pierce manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babalu is trying is best to control the position here. Pierce is working for a submission of some sort.
Babalu is pressing down on Pierce's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Angel Pierce has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pierce must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pierce trying to control but Babalu is working from the bottom. Babalu looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pierce in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Babalu is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sinhjo Babalu. Pierce misses with a takedown attempt and Babalu counters with a head kick. Sinhjo Babalu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angel Pierce. Pierce gets caught flat footed, as Babalu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Babalu lands a couple of digs. Babalu wants to control from the top but Pierce keeps moving. Sinhjo Babalu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Babalu is really struggling to control Pierce but he's trying to hold on to the position. Babalu tries to free his leg and advance position but Pierce is retaining full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pierce is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Babalu defends well. Babalu sitting in guard, not really doing much.
And that's the end of the fight! Sinhjo Babalu showed his dominance in that final round. Well Babalu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
