Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Walter McWrestle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Whitefield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Walter McWrestle has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Walter McWrestle seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitefield fails to land the takedown.
McWrestle throws a looping overhand right but Whitefield ducks down to avoid it.
McWrestle connects with a jab.
McWrestle bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Whitefield's head backwards.
McWrestle throws a jab but it's blocked by Whitefield.
A leg kick checked by Whitefield.
McWrestle throws a nice looking combination but Whitefield bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Whitefield uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McWrestle.
Whitefield shoots in and drives through. McWrestle sprawls well.
McWrestle has Whitefield up against the cage in a clinch.
McWrestle wants to break free but Whitefield has control.
McWrestle gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Whitefield.
Walter McWrestle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Whitefield.
Whitefield can't break the clinch.
McWrestle jumps guard and drags Whitefield to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Whitefield wants to get up but he can't break McWrestle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Whitefield tries to pass the half guard into mount. McWrestle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McWrestle wants to get back to full guard.

McWrestle pushes Whitefield off looking to stand but Whitefield dives back in and keeps control.
Whitefield wants to lay and pray for a moment but McWrestle keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Whitefield dives in and grabs McWrestle's left leg, looking for a takedown. McWrestle pushes down on Whitefield's head and hops out.
McWrestle scores with a punch to the head.
McWrestle takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Whitefield looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

McWrestle lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

McWrestle fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Whitefield takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

McWrestle is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Whitefield takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Whitefield takes one to the chin there.

Whitefield looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Whitefield is still on wobbly legs! Can McWrestle finish him?
Whitefield looks up at the clock. Bad move! McWrestle lands a right hand from hell, dropping Whitefield. McWrestle pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walter McWrestle!
