Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nolan has chosen Truth as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Richard Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Nolan!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Martin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nolan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nolan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin wants to control from the top but Nolan keeps moving.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Nolan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nolan wants to sweep here but Martin controlling him for the moment.
Martin is looking to work some ground and pound but Nolan has wrist control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nolan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Martin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Martin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nolan is on top in guard.

Nolan advances to half guard.
Martin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Martin has a hand on Nolan's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Nolan takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Martin is in a horrible position here. Nolan smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Martin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Martin tries to kick Nolan off but Nolan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nolan connects with a nice short shot to Martin's temple.

Nolan decides to return to a standing position.
The crowd cheers as Nolan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Martin doesn't seem phased though.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nolan as he avoids it easily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nolan won't allow Martin to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Nolan dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Nolan pushes Martin up against the cage in a clinch.
Martin has Nolan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Nolan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Nolan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Martin was covering up waiting for the punch and Nolan finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nolan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martin's guard.

Richard Martin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Martin wants to stand and escape but Nolan is having none of it.
Nolan chips away with some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Nolan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Martin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nolan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nolan decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Martin, up you get!

Robert Nolan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Martin has his takedown stuffed

and Nolan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Martin's guard.

Robert Nolan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nolan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
