Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jim Jim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edgars Lusins! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Lusins with that takedown attempt. Lusins shoots in looking for a takedown. Jim tries to sprawl out of it but Lusins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Jim manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jim thows a body shot but no joy. Jim Jim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jim looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lusins shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jim defends it nicely. Jim Jim has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edgars Lusins. Good shot there by Jim. Jim digs a good body shot into Lusins's ribs. Well, if Jim is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Lusins wants to get back to full guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lusins is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jim scores with a couple of nice shots. Lusins is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jim lands a nice short elbow. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lusins is not content to let Jim control the position. Jim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lusins actively working from the bottom here. Lusins looks gassed! Lusins tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Jim has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Jim pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Lusins taking shots to the head. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lusins can do anything to dispel that myth. Lusins is bucking up trying to escape but Jim cracks him with another couple of good strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! A nice elbow there by Jim.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Jim breaks from Lusins's wrist control and lands an elbow. Jim working away from the top, dropping strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jim tries to control but Lusins wriggling away. Jim landing punches. Jim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lusins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jim has managed to get both his arms back between Lusins's legs - danger averted. Jim won't allow Lusins to sweep him here. Jim lands a couple of elbows. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim Jim dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Lusins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jim sprawls well. Jim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lusins gets slowly back to his feet. Lusins decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lusins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lusins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jim sees it coming and defends easily. Jim is controlling Lusins's trapped leg to prevent Lusins from advancing to side control. Jim Jim overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lusins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jim is just riding it out for now. Lusins eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jim slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Lusins wants to pass the guard but Jim is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lusins postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jim is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lusins, into his guard. Jim content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Lusins is looking for a triangle but Jim pushes his legs off easily.
Jim scoring with some ground and pound. Jim keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lusins's head. Jim postures up and lands a big shot to Lusins's brow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jim wants to control from the top but Lusins keeps moving. Jim scoring with some ground and pound. Jim slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Lusins is looking for a sweep. Jim wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lusins keeps working. Jim is working Lusins over with some ground and pound from side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lusins looks to move to half guard but instead Jim has passed into mount! Damn! Edgars Lusins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jim blocks Lusins's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Jim showed his dominance in that final round. Well Jim has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
