Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, jeff ibanez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Brunner! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ibanez stuffs the takedown. Brunner lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like jeff ibanez has been cut. Brunner shoots for a takedown but ibanez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Brunner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. jeff ibanez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Brunner. Brunner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches ibanez napping and manages to drive through into side control! Brunner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brunner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Brunner passes to full mount! That's big trouble for ibanez! Brunner trying to control but he's not successful this time. ibanez is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Brunner has taken his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. ibanez is trying to stand back up. ibanez wants to control his opponent's hands but Brunner gets his hands free.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brunner is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but ibanez has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Brunner struggling to keep hold of the position.

Brunner looking to break ibanez's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. ibanez remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Brunner will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. ibanez trying to control the action but Brunner just sinks the hooks in.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brunner is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

ibanez is working hard here to advance position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Brunner is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. ibanez knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften ibanez for a finish. ibanez is trying to get back to his feet but Brunner has full control of the position and if anything, ibanez has just worked his way into a worse spot. ibanez is trying to break free.
