Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles Moritz! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mork Hemsko! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemsko scores with a takedown into Moritz's guard. Moritz keeping moving, preventing Hemsko from controlling successfully. Hemsko is looking to work some ground and pound but Moritz has wrist control. Hemsko cracks Moritz with a solid left hand. Hemsko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hemsko has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hemsko trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hemsko throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Moritz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hemsko throwing strikes from guard but Moritz blocks nicely. Hemsko postures up in Moritz's guard and throws a big left but Moritz blocks it. Moritz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hemsko. Hemsko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hemsko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Moritz's head. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Moritz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hemsko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hemsko thows a big elbow that misses. Hemsko trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hemsko distracts Moritz with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Moritz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Hemsko trying to control the position from guard on top but Moritz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hemsko with a flurry of punches that miss. Hemsko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hemsko engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Moritz is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hemsko dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hemsko lands a few punches from side control. Moritz takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
It looks like Charles Moritz has been cut. Hemsko in side control, throwing shots but Moritz defends. Hemsko cracks Moritz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Moritz is rocked! Hemsko landing strikes. Oh Moritz is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! This has been an exciting period of action! A big shot lands for Hemsko! That's hurt Moritz! Will he recover? Hemsko fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
