Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 37 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adam Saburo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Silva!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Saburo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Silva is looking for a kimura here.
Silva looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Silva is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Saburo has hold of Silva's hands but Silva slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Silva is taking a breather. Saburo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Silva connects with a nice short shot to Saburo's temple.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Saburo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Silva not doing much here.
Saburo looks like he's trying to stand up.
Saburo wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.

Silva stands up from half guard.

Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Saburo to the mat! Saburo manages to get full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Silva's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Silva has taken the fight to the clinch.
Saburo jumps guard but Silva stands there with Saburo around his waist. Saburo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Silva gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Saburo regains guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Silva is in close to Saburo's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Silva works over Saburo with some ground and pound from guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Saburo is retaining full guard.
Saburo wants to stand up but Silva is controlling him.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jon Silva wasn't active enough on the ground.

Silva shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Saburo wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.
Saburo is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Silva working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Saburo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Saburo.

Silva stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Silva dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Saburo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Silva gets the takedown into side control.
Saburo taking punishment in the form of punches.
Silva landing a few strikes.
Saburo is trying to get back to half guard.

Silva decides to stand back up.

Silva closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Saburo to the mat! Saburo manages to get full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Saburo controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jon Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.
Silva slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Silva drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Silva as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Saburo screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Silva! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Jon Silva!
